"Yearning" is about desire and transformation. I imagine a fish rising to the surface, dreaming of becoming a bird — a simple yet powerful metaphor for our constant longing to be something more, something beyond ourselves. The fragile bubble above suggests that space between reality and aspiration, where dreams take shape but can easily dissolve. For me, this work speaks about the beauty and vulnerability of wanting to change, and the quiet tension between who we are and who we wish to be.
Materials and Process: Copper is cut, formed, soldered, and patinated to capture movement and life. Denim and resin blend to express fluidity and air, while the wooden base grounds the piece. Transforming these everyday materials allows me to express fragility, aspiration, and the poetry of transformation.
